I’m Emsy and I’m a snackaholic. There really is nothing better than having lots of lovely salty, crunchy, cheesy snacks to nibble on (and I’m not going to lie, one of my favourite things about Christmas is the sheer abundance of nibbley treats around to graze on – and you don’t even have to feel guilty about it!) I was really excited to be sent some nibnibs* recently – a selection of “Premium baked British nibbles for the discerning connoisseur” I’m so fancy, you already know! Excitingly I also have a selection pack for you to win too!
nibnibs is a family run Yorkshire based company which uses all British ingredients to make their range of scrumptious snacks. I was lucky enough to be sent four different products to try: 3 varieties of mininibs bitesized exceptional cheese straws (in flavours Cheddar Cheese, Cheddar and Spicy Chilli and Cheddar and Cheeky Onion) and also some Roasted Salt and Pepper Jumbo Peanuts. YUM! They also come in larger packs, which is just as well as these bad boys are sooo moreish!
The cheese straws are the perfect size for a nibble (though there’s definitely no way you can stop at having just one!) They’re lovely and buttery with a really nice cheesy flavour. The Cheddar and Cheeky Onion mini nibs are really delicious with a subtle oniony undertone and the Cheddar and Spicy Chilli have a lovely depth of flavour, with the chilli being more mild than spicy but with a great heated after burn. Nomnomnom! They are more like a traditional breadstick texture however – crispy rather than the flaky texture I would normally associate with cheese straws.
The Roasted Salt and Pepper Jumbo Peanuts are also really tasty and perfectly seasoned so the salt and pepper balance well and one flavour doesn’t over power the other. My only problem with these was that they got devoured really quickly! The nuts were packaged inside the tub in a foil bag which did keep them fresh, but when tipped out only filled the tub half way up and I definitely wanted more!
I really like the packaging of these nibnibs mini nibs – the little tubs with their freshness seals really make them feel like a premium snack. I also really like the distinctive colours used and think these would definitely jump out at me at the supermarket. These are just the sort of thing my mum would pick up and serve as pre-dinner snacks, particularly at Christmas time. They would also make a really nice addition to a hamper or as a stocking filler type present. I bought my boyfriend 30 presents for his 30th birthday in September (great idea, got me LOTS of Good Girlfriend points!) and included lots of luxury snack and nibbles, and these would have fitted in perfectly.
The fab people at nibnibs are also offering you lovely lot a chance to win your own selection of nibnibs, just in time for Christmas (if you can manage to resist them until then!) All you have to do is fill in the Rafflecopter below. Good luck Pickles!
What are your favourite nibbles?
