InstaLIFE // w/c 2nd November 2014

November 9, 2014

First InstaLIFE post of Novemberyikes where has this year gone?!?! It’s been a couple of weeks since I did an InstaLIFE catch up as work has been mega busy the last few weeks, and I’ve also been away on holiday (all work and no play and all that!) So here’s a little peek at what I’ve been up to since my last post…

Just before I went away on holiday I downloaded and watched the documentary Blackfish which looks at the treatment of killer whales in captivity and specifically at Sea World. It was really eye opening and I would definitely recommend you have a watch. It’s pretty heavy going though so be prepared!

Holidays are coming, holidays are coming! Who doesn’t love that advert eh?! I was super excited to see these reindeer named Coke bottles in Boots and love how they’ve incorporated their personalised bottle campaign with their Christmas advertising. I don’t even drink Coke any more and I was tempted to buy the Rudolph bottle! I think my Santa will definitely be left out a bottle of that this year!

Just before I went away on holiday I met up with my mum and dad for dinner and a catch up. We went to Giraffe and the food was pretty average but I did have this amazing fresh lemonade with mint. Soooo gooood!!!!

Last week my boyfriend and I whizzed off to the south of Spain for some last minute sunshine with 10 of our friends. We hired a villa in the mountains and it’s was so so beautiful. We had an amazing time, laughed non stop and drank far too much Rioja! I think I will do a little holiday post with a some more photos in as the scenery was just too pretty not to share!

First up Coca-Cola and now Starbucks! Eeeee! My best friend from uni surprised me on Tuesday by saying she was in London with work for the day so we met up in the evening for a coffee and a catch up. It was so lovely to see her and hear all her news, and sample some of the new Starbucks Christmas drinkshoney and almond hot chocolate anyone?!

How good is the new John Lewis advert?!?! I LOVE penguins and literally cannot stop watching the advert! I especially love it as a few Christmases ago my boyfriend bought me a cuddly toy penguin (which we inventively named Mr Penguin…) The year later he bought me Penelope to keep Mr P company – just like Monty and Mabel in the advert aww bless!

Another way to tell that Christmas is fast approaching is the abundance of Christmas jumpers on sale. I was very excited this week to receive a little festive parcel from Matalan including two of their gorgeous holiday time tops and some candy canes. Thanks guys! My mum and I wore one each at the Spirit of Christmas Fair today and I’ll have a post about that up very very soon.

You may remember earlier this year I reviewed a lovely all-natural hand scrub by the lovely people at Beauty Kitchen, and on Thursday I was so excited spot some of their goodies in my local Holland and Barrett! Beauty Kitchen make such wonderful products, made up of 100% natural ingredients and I loved the look of this “Create Your Own Bath Bombs” set how cool is that?!

I LOVE fireworks and on Friday night went to see the free display put on by Camden Council at Corams Field. Fireworks make me feel all warm and cosy inside (despite the fact it was freezing standing around watching them!) and remind me of so many happy childhood memories. The display was really nice, quite small but still lots of fun.

So there we go, quite a Christmas themed week which I hadn’t quite appreciated or realised at the time! I swear Christmas creeps in earlier and earlier each year! I love this time of year though, it’s so much fun and I’m really excited to blog lots of Christmassy themed bits and pieces in the next few weeks 😀

Are you getting excited about Christmas already, or is it still a bit too soon?
