It’s February. It’s dark. It’s gloomy. You’ve spent the weekend locked indoors sheltering from Storm Ciara. So why not cheer yourself up by taking a peek at the pastel perfection that is Dunelm’s SS20 collection?! Not only is it all absolutely beautiful and affordable, but it’s also all centred around creating a mindful home with more sustainable and thoughtful pieces to have a positive impact on your personal well being. If you read my 5 Promises for 2020 post, you’ll know that focusing on my mental well being and sustainability are high on my priority list for this year, so Dunelm’s latest collection is right up my street. Let’s dive in shall we…
The collections are split into three different trends, all of which can work separately or together to help you create a beautiful and tranquil home.
Creating a home from treasured and helpful items is the key to a happier space.
By being more thoughtful about how we fill our homes, and by making changes to the way we shop and style our spaces, we can have a positive impact on our wellbeing.
– Dunelm SS20
The light and airy Sanctuary collection has an easy-going charm to suit any room. A calming palette of soothing neutral tones and leafy greens combined with mixed textures such as bamboo, cane and textiles creates an air of tranquillity – which is definitely something I need in my house!
There was a big focus on wooden furniture and accessories, particularly in the kitchen to move away from plastics. Not only are wooden topped glass storage jars far more chic, but they’re also much better for the environment.
Also for the kitchen was a beautiful selection of pastel coloured crockery and dinnerware, which combined with golden cutlery and the cutest bunny salt and pepper shakers made for the perfect Easter table setting.
I also adored the wooden bedroom furniture to bring a touch of the outside into the bedroom too, which looked so peaceful and relaxing, to invoke good sleep habits. We currently have a lot of natural wood and plants in our bedroom, but I’d love to add this STUNNING bamboo mirror too.
With geometric prints and stylised florals, the Elements collection is designed to be clean cut, uncluttered and confidently colourful.
How stunning is this Anya Cabinet? The dark wood and brushed gold looks so stylish without being too trendy that it would be outdated in a few years. It would also make an epic bar cart, especially with the beaut gold cocktail making kit displayed on top.
I also adored this desk set up, which is pretty much mine and my boyfriend’s dream aesthetic. Strong clean lines with the black metal frame, stylish wooden counter top and practical with plenty of space for plants and storage. Imagine working from home with this set up!
The boujiest of the three themes, Eastern Escape aims to elevate everyday objects with brushed gold metals, faux silks, ginkgo motifs and chinoiserie blossom prints, for a finish that is timeless and luxurious.
I loved this simple, stark black metal bed frame which makes a real statement, yet can be softened and cosied up with soft pastel cotton bedding. Dunelm also has a new Tencel bedding collection which is a naturally derived fibre, made from plant materials in an environmentally friendly manner. I am obsessed with this gold tray to bring a touch of glamour too, and think it would look gorgeous holding perfumes and trinkets on top of a dresser.
Dunelm also have an amazing range of decorative pillows and cushions which would make a statement out of any couch or bed, and is a really quick, easy way of breathing new life into your room.
I loved the new collection so much, and was once again so impressed by how Dunelm makes such stylish pieces for such affordable prices. Thanks for inviting me to check it out guys!
