Midweek Manicure | #NailArtWeeklyProject Week 4 – Nails Inspired by My Birthday Month (February)

February 19, 2014

Roses are red, violets are blue, February has Valentines Day and my birthday too!

Hello! I can’t believe it’s already Week 4 of the #NailArtWeeklyProject! This week’s theme is “Nail Art Inspired By The Month You Were Born In”. I found this a bit tricky as my birthday is in February on Valentine’s Day, which was last week’s nail art theme! (And February isn’t really known for much else!) I decided to go for a floral theme as everyone likes getting flowers on Valentine’s Day or their birthday.

I decided on doing two nails with some shabby chic Cath Kidston style flowers and the rest little polka dots. I went for red roses on my pointer finger (which are actually pink!) and blue violets on my ring finger to match the classic V-Day poem. I then used the same blue and pink for my polka dot nails, and did a pastel green middle finger to mirror the leaves of the flowers.

Here are the polishes I used:

Overall I was pretty pleased with this mani! It’s very cute, and wearable all year round which is kind of what I wanted rather than something specifically for Valentine’s Day / February. I think the polka dot nails would be really cute for spring / Easter. The topcoat smudged my flowers slightly, but I think this actually adds to the vintagey kind of feel I was hoping for!
