I’m not usually a fan of pink nail polish, as it always seems a little too safe and boring to me. I much prefer a bold bright green or blue colour. However, my eye was really drawn to the gorgeous pink Barry M Gelly Nail Paint Dragonfruit. As good old Superdrug was doing a 3 for 2 deal across all nail products, I decided I had to try it. But has it changed my mind about pink polishes?
I ADORE this nail colour! It’s such an interesting, pretty shade of pink and very different to the other pinks in my collection. It’s quite a candy pink, and reminds me of Leah from The Apprentice’s signature candy floss coloured lipstick! However it also has tiny little shimmer particles in, which add another dimension and depth of colour, and prevent it from being just another bland pink. The shimmer, along with the ridiculously glossy finish mean it really is very pretty, and I couldn’t stop staring at my hands as my nails caught the light! It also can look quite bright and bold when in the direct sunlight, meaning it’s a pink which packs a punch!
It applied well, with a good consistency and even finish. The above shows 2 coats and you can still see the slight outline of my nail tips. A third coat would be needed for full opacity. It dried quite quickly and smoothly and was so so shiny that no top coat was really needed, however I used one out of habit (Save the Nail Wet Look Topcoat).
