Midweek Manicure seems to have gone a bit fruity of late, with my watermelon nail art last post and a neon gradient pineapple look this week! Pineapples are the print of the summer this year and I couldn’t resist in indulging in a little nail art to match. Like with watermelons, I don’t like to actually eat pineapple but I do think they look pretty cool, and undeniably sunny! I got these gorgeous little pineapple water decals from eBay and thought they’d look really fun layered over a bright yellow and green gradient nail, so of course I reached for my favourite Models Own Polish For Tans collection which are so bright and look AMAZING in the sunshine.
The amazing thing about the Polish for Tans range (which I reviewed here) is that they have a white base so they apply really opaquely and are really bright. To bring them out in all their neon glory I actually base painted my nails with the Models Own Hyper Gel White Light too, to make the yellow and green really pop. I then painted on a layer of green Flip Flop and gradually layered up yellow Bikini towards my tips.
I had originally planned to put a pineapple sticker on each nail but loved the highlighter bright yellow and green so much I didn’t want to cover it all up so just went for one big pineapple on my ring finger. These nail decals were just £1.40 for 21 and although they shipped from Australia arrived really quickly. They’re also some of the best quality nail decals I’ve used and didn’t rip when applying or sealing with top coat, and haven’t rubbed off either which I’ve experienced with some nail decals in the past. I also love how intricate they are, with the little stars on the body of the pineapple. So cute!
I’m so happy with these totally tropical nails and think they’re so fun for summer. They’re bright, bold and jazz up everything I wear, giving even a dreary work day a neon boost.
I live in Brixton in London. I eat out far too much, am always planning my next trip and have a borderline unhealthy obsession with Harry Potter.
