Favourites // July 2015

August 4, 2015

I did my first ever Monthly Favourites post last month and really enjoyed it so thought I’d share my July faves too! My top picks this month include the mother of all Disney jumpers, the perfect summer perfume, scrumptious pizza and giant pants! Let’s get on with it….

Disney Princess jumper

My friend Donalyn is the queen of bargain buys so when she introduced me to AliExpress I knew I was going to have to make a purchase (or three!) I saw this AMAZING Disney Princess patterned jumper and just had to have it! It’s obviously not official merchandise and isn’t the best quality or size (the sleeves are three quarter length on me) but only cost £8.89 and I love it!

Little Mix

Can anyone else still not get Black Magic out of their head?! And how good was their Jason Derulo / Whitney Houston mash up on Radio 1?! I absolutely love these girls and my friends and I have got tickets to see them on their Get Weird tour next year – Can. Not. Wait!

Brogan Tate’s YouTube Channel

I’m a new subscriber and have been loving Brogan’s YouTube channel this month! I stumbled across Brogan’s channel when I was ill one day and properly binge watched all of her Trek America vlogs one after the other! I did Trek America myself a few years ago and it was so fun to experience a different tour through Brogan’s eyes and follow her adventures. I’ve been loving Brogan’s weekly vlogs and I can’t wait to work my way through the rest of her videos too. I definitely recommend checking her channel out! Let me know if you’d like me to write about my experience with Trek America too as it was quite different to Brogan’s.

Tanya Burr Lip Gloss Exotic Island

I’ve had Exotic Island for quite a while but this month it has been an absolute staple in my handbag! It’s one of my fave Tanya Lip Glosses as I love how pigmented the purple pink colour is, which also goes with absolutely everything! Let me know if you’d like to see a full post on all of my Tanya Burr Lip Gloss collection.

MoroccanOil Intense Hydrating Mask*

If you read my recent review of the MoroccanOil hair care range I tried out recently it will come as no surprise that this Intense Hydrating Mask is featured in this month’s favourites! It’s amazing! It has totally revitalised my hair making it healthier looking, stronger feeling and so so silky!

Calvin Klein Reveal perfume

This is the prefect perfume for summer and I have worn it nearly every day this month! It has a really fresh scent with citrus undertones which is so light and pretty. I also really like the unusual bottle and it’s sleek, compact shape makes it  really great for taking on the move. I’ll definitely be taking this away on holiday with me!

Primark Control Pants / Spanx

A bit of a random one here (and something I didn’t feel the need to photograph!) but wanted to share nonetheless! I’ve been loving Primark’s giant sucky-in pants! My friends Tom and Caroline got married a couple of weeks ago and I wanted to get some sort of Spanx to give me a nice streamlined silhouette in my pretty dress. Leaving everything to the last minute (as usual) and being pretty skint after spending all my money on beer and cake in York (which also massively contributed to the need for big pants!) I only had a chance to pop to Primark rather than M&S where I would usually buy such things. I found a great pair of flesh coloured control pants shorts which only cost me £5. They were brilliant! They offered a really good level of support, keeping me all sucked in without being painful and went from mid thigh up to my bra – sexy! I was really impressed with the quality of them for just £5 and are great if you’re only going to wear them at special occasions and don’t want to add massively to the cost of buying your dress, shoes etc. Well done Primark!

A couple of weeks ago my boyfriend and I went for a weekend away in York (which you can read about here). It was one of my favourite trips we’ve ever done together and I fell head over heels with the quaint old city. We have a tradition where we buy a magnet of everywhere we visit together and chose this one of iconic York Minster to commemorate our trip.

Chicago Town Pizza*

I blimmin love pizza so it was a very happy day indeed when I was sent a selection of Chicago Town goodies to try out! Their individual sized pizzas are so good for when you need to get your pizza fix and don’t want to over indulge (I mean who can actually stop at just a few slices of a large pizza – I know I can’t!) Their Pepperoni Deep Dish pizzas are so good and the New Yorker flavour one is even better – pepperoni, ham, mushroom and onion all on one pizza is pretty much all you need in life! Their Subs are also really scrummy and so nice for lunch time, my favourites are the classic Cheese & Tomato and Meat Supreme flavours. They’ve also just released their new Pizza Melts, which are a hybrid of pizza and burger yep you read that right – what a time to be alive! I can’t wait to get my hands on one of these too!

Christmas in July press days

One of my favourite things about being a blogger is being invited to exciting press days, and they don’t get much more exciting than Christmas in July events! Only 20weeks left until the big day guys! I went along to view the new AW15 Boohoo range, made up of lots of glitter and pom-poms! Their accessories look particularly good and I fell in love with this silver embellished Blair Waldorf style headband.

I adore watches and loved looking at the MGS PR Christmas press day where they showcased a huge range of luxury watches from brands including Coach, Ferrari and Hugo Boss. My favourite however was this beautiful rose gold Movado one, swoon!

I also went to the Popcorn PR day which had lots of great gift ideas for all the family, including  festive Walkers Shortbread, kits to make your own bubble tea, a craft beer subscription box (totally getting that for my boyfriend) and gorgeous fragrances by The Perfume Shop and cosmetics from Ginger and Co

My final Christmas in July event was the HoMedics Christmas press show, again with lots of brands showcasing their great products, giving me loads of fab ideas for Christmas presents (to give and receive!) I loved looking at the MySpa range of affordable at-home spa treatments including, foot baths, facial cleansers and manicure sets. I was also super impressed by the House of Marley headphones on display which came in some gorgeous girly colours and weren’t too big and bulky. Salter also had some amazing kitchen and baking utensils (which always make great Christmas gifts) as would these super cool light up speakers from Jam Audio.

Squee I can’t wait for Christmas now! Thanks for having me everybody!

So there you go, those were the things I’ve been loving most throughout July.

Please do let me know below what your faves were this month, or leave me  a link to your July Favourites blog post / videos, I love having a nose at them!
