This week’s Midweek Manicure post is a little bit different from usual. I decided that instead of looking at specific polishes or nail art, I’d show you some of the little nail art essentials which are available to buy through the one and only eBay. Some of these I have already bought and others are on my ever-growing wish list!
These are literally a beauty blogger’s best friend! Anyone with a love for nail polish should buy these – they’re so great for swatching polishes (like here) and also trying out different colour combinations and designs without having to keep applying and removing polish on your hands. They’re also perfect for when doing a design look book (like my Halloween one).
I recently bought these and love them! I’ve always loved zig zag patterns and these just make wearing them on your nails idiot proof! Just stick them on, paint over them and peel them off – job done! Here’s my last chevron mani, I think I need to do another one soon!
I have seen some incredible manis created using Nail Striping Tape so fingers crossed I can create some cool looks too! Most of the looks I’ve seen involve using the tape similarly to the chevron stickers- using them as way to create patterns of unpainted patches on the nail, but I am absolutely in love with a silver and blue design which actually uses the silver tape as part of the manicure. I need to get trying this!
I bought this bargainous little kit a few weeks ago and it’s been awesome! For only 99p it’s very hard to go wrong, but there really is a tool for any kind of mani effect you’re trying to create. I’ve mostly been using the small-end brushes to do delicate or precise manicures – like THIS ONE – but I need to make my way through all of them, having a play and getting to grips with how they can be used. I’m sure there are better kits out there but for a non professional like myself this cheapo set is perfect! Let me know if you’d like a more detailed look at this kit in it’s own post.
How amazing are these Frozen ones?! eBay is filled with incredible nail art water transfers of all sorts of patterns and designs. They’re a great easy way to give your nails some intricate art without having to try yourself (especially as I usually end up with a freehand “Pinterest Nailed It” style disaster!) I find the water decals have a longer lasting finish than standard nail wraps as they are only on a small section of the nail so peel off less easily. They are a little bit fiddly to apply but hey – if you end up with perfect Olaf’s on your fingers who cares?!
I’m not really a huge fan of the classic French manicure as I prefer to wear something a lot bolder and brighter. That being said I do love a jazzy French mani (a Frazzy mani?!) I love playing around with tip colours (like HERE) and creating fun new looks. These stickers are a great tool to have, especially if your hands aren’t steady enough to draw them neatly freehand.
I live in Brixton in London. I eat out far too much, am always planning my next trip and have a borderline unhealthy obsession with Harry Potter.
