You may have heard that this Wednesday 6th August THE GREAT BRITISH BAKE OFF IS BACK!!!!! And that means that emsypickle’s GBBO challenge is back too hurrah! I’m a huge fan of the show and last year decided to bake along with the theme of each week’s episode and blog about how I got on. I had such fun doing it, learnt so many new techniques and recipes, became a much more confident baker AND got to eat lots of yummy things – so obviously I thought it would be a good idea to do it again!
Last year I made everything from choux buns to wheat free foccacia to picnic pies. You can see all of my bakes HERE which also include the recipes used and step by step methods. Ooh get me! I will be posting in this format again this year and am aiming to put my new GBBO posts up every Monday.
Excitingly I’ve been chatting to a few other bloggers on twitter who are also obsessed with GBBO and are planning to bake along too! Excellent! It will be so fun to see what everyone bakes and also to have even more people to discuss every aspect of my favourite show with! The lovely Polly from Polly’s Little World blog has arranged to keep track of everyone’s creations by doing a Great British Bake Off Link Up. Each week Polly will post on her blog detailing the theme of that week’s episode and then anyone who wants to bake along too can post a link to their blog post showing off their bakes, so we can all easily see what everyone has made and their take on the theme. Thanks Polly I love this idea!
If you want to post your bake on Twitter too, Polly has suggested we use the hashtag #GBBOLinkUp and use this for discussing every little detail from who was knocked out, who was star baker, Mel and Sue’ bun puns, Paul’s flirting and Mary’s floral jackets! Ooh I’m getting excited just thinking about it!
I live in Brixton in London. I eat out far too much, am always planning my next trip and have a borderline unhealthy obsession with Harry Potter.
