Midweek Manicure | #NailArtWeeklyProject Week 2 – Nails Inspired by a TV Show / Film

You know you love them – XOXO Gossip Girl Nails

Hello lovelies! So it’s time for Week 2 of the #NailArtWeeklyProject and this week’s theme has had me even more excited than last weeks! Nails inspired by a TV show or film eeeeekkk!!  I have some many films and TV shows that I absolutely love, so my brain instantly began buzzing with ideas – Jurassic Park, Harry Potter, Keeping Up With The Kardashians – all amazing to watch, and would all translate creatively into nail art. However there’s one show in particular which I’ve become OBSESSED with recently, which features an amazing mix of characters, a crazy amount of drama and more glitz and glam than you can shake a stick at – GOSSIP GIRL!

I decided to split my design into two halves – one which depicts the main characters of the show, and the other the all important location, which is as big a part of Gossip Girl as the characters themselves. On my right hand I drew the New York City skyline, and added the famous catch phrase XOXO on my thumb nail.

On my left hand I decided to do interpretation of 5 of the main characters. On my thumb I went for a white – gold ombre look for golden girl Serena Van Der Woodsen. Next came dark and brooding Chuck Bass (complete with signature purple bow tie!). The middle finger is dedicated to my favourite character – Blair Waldorf, the Princess of NYC, donning a diamond head band, of course! For Nate Archibald I chose a cornflower blue plaid shirt look and who else for my pinky finger than Little J, Jenny Humphrey – good girl gone bad with punk rock matte black and pink glitter tips.

I seemed to use quite a lot of different polishes to complete this look, which you can see here.

I was pretty pleased with how my mani turned out. I really like my New York skyline and think it’s a really simple but effective look! I like how my “character hand” shows off the diversity of each of the different characters, and wish I had an extra finger so I could paint a Dan nail too! (I don’t wish for a Vanessa finger though – I hate Vanessa!! Lol!) I hope that each nail is recognisable for each character, let me know what you think in the comments below!
