Tropical nails for tropical weather
Obviously this tropical weather was actually enjoyed in sunny Lanzarote, rather than dreary London where I spent the last week on my holidays! I wanted a really bright, fun colour to wear in the sunshine and chose Barry M’s Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Paint in Papaya.
It’s a really bright orange toned coral colour, which looked gorgeous in the bright sunny weather of Lanzarote.
I’m a big fan of the Barry M Gelly Paints, so was really disappointed to find that this didn’t apply as well as the others I’ve tried. It was quite gloopy and very streaky on the nail, with lots of bald patches. Even with two coats (as below) it still looked uneven and with lots of drag lines. Sad face!
As with the other Gelly Paints, Papaya did however have a high shine finish which looked lovely and glossy in the Lanzarote sunshine. This also helped disguise the streaky application.
Papaya is such a pretty, bright colour I can definitely overlook its less than perfect application and finish, and will wear this again. Its gorgeous for summer, and will also be lovely to perk up my nails in the coming wintery doom and gloom London weather. I think I will wear it lots on my toes, where the colour can still pop, but the streaky finish will be less noticeable.
