Beauty | O.P.I Union Jack Pure Lacquer Nail Apps

June 13, 2013

Spice up your nails!

I went to go see Viva Forever! at the Piccadilly Theatre and decided this was the perfect time to try out my O.P.I Collectors Edition Pure Lacquer Nail Apps in “Union Jack” which simply ooze 90’s Girl Power!

I’ve never tried nail apps like these before, which are actually made up of actual nail varnish, rather than just a patterned sticker, and the difference in quality was immense! They come foil wrapped to keep them fresh, and stop them from drying out, and meant the overall finish was much glossier and of higher quality.

The nail apps were really easy to apply, simply peeling the app off the backing strip and smoothing it down on to the nail. The excess were easy to fold off the end of the nail too, and filed smoothly to fit the shape of my nail.

I loved the look of the nail apps, they were just so shiny and sparkly and spangly! Every time I moved my hands I got a little flash of fabulousness!

The only bad thing I found about these apps is that, due to the fact they’re made of real nail polish, they’re quite thick, meaning they chipped off quite easily. In fact, by the end of the first half of Viva Forever! I’d already lost a nail and a half where they’d got scratched / knocked when getting things out my bag etc 🙁

Overall I really liked these nail apps. They felt quite luxurious due to the foil wrap packaging and high shine, quality finish. Although they are quite bright and bold for everyday wear, they’re really fun for a novelty occasion and were perfect for my trip to see the Spice Girls musical Viva Forever! (Read my review of the show here!)

Have you tried O.P.I Pure Lacquer nail apps before? Would you wear the Union Jack style?
