Now it’s no secret that I absolutely love to bake (and am rather partial to eating a bit of cake
or three too!) I’m always on the lookout for new recipes to make, new ingredients to use and the latest baking trends to try. Which is why I am so excited by The Cake & Bake Show! Keep reading below to see what it’s all about and how you can get £3 off your ticket.
The Cake & Bake Show, in association with NEFF, is described as “an experiential live event for baking and cake fanatics.” Yep, that sounds like me! An annual event, this year there are going to be 4 shows being held in:
♥Harrogate (19 – 21 June, HIC) ♥
♥London (2 – 4 October, ExCel) ♥
♥Manchester (16 – 18 October, Eventcity) ♥
♥ Edinburgh (30 October – 1 November, RHC) ♥
At each event you can expect to see live demonstrations in the Super Cake & Bake Theatre, attend classes held by experts, shop at the hundreds of market stands and enter and watch baking competitions too.
Sounds good eh?!
There’ll also be heaps of celebrity chefs, showing off their skills, signing their recipe books, and giving their expert advice so you can learn from the best. How exciting! Celebrity ambassadors who will be on hand include foodie expert Gregg Wallace, celebrity chef Rosemary Shrager, Aaron Craze of Saturday Cookbook, actress and winner of Celebrity MasterChef Lisa Faulkner, TV chef Phil Vickery, French pâtissier and celebrity chef Éric Lanlard, as well as Coronation Street star and Celebrity MasterChef finalist Wendi Peters. Joining them and whipping up a storm in the Super Cake & Bake Theatre – in association with NEFF, will be the nation’s favourite baking stars Jo Wheatley, Great British Bake Off winner from 2011, John Whaite, the charismatic winner of The Great British Bake Off 2012 (one of my all time fave contestants) as well as fellow seasoned baking star Brendan Lynch.
Following the success of last year’s Cake competition The Cake & Bake Show is calling on professional, semi-professional and amateur bakers to enter a their own interpretation of children’s stories.
Entrants can choose anything from a character in a children’s book to nostalgic movie scene or a combination of all your favourites from over the years! Whether big or small, cupcakes to 3 tiered extravaganzas, the design will be totally up to the decorator as long as it adheres to the theme! Awards will be given for display, and taste and display only. Entries will be judged by an esteemed panel of experts inclusive of Gurgle magazine for the junior category. The Edinburgh competition will be judged and awarded by the Scottish Baking Awards as well as the Cake & Bake team.
For the first time ever The Cake & Bake Show is introducing a bakes competition for enthusiastic home bakers oh haiiiii!
It can be anything from Eric Lanlard’s profiteroles, Paul Hollywood’s bloomer to Gregg Wallace’s Sticky toffee pud or you can get creative and enter your own showstopper! There is no theme for this competition and the categories are adults (18 or over) or children. This category is based mainly on taste, flavour & texture but they want it to look great as well. Entrants will be judged by celebrity chef Gregg Wallace, master patissier Eric Lanlard and representatives from the Tiptree World Bread Awards. The junior category will be judged by Gurgle magazine. Entrants must submit their ideas by 1st June for the Harrogate Show or 18th August for London, Manchester or Edinburgh at www.thecakeandbakeshow.co.uk

I live in Brixton in London. I eat out far too much, am always planning my next trip and have a borderline unhealthy obsession with Harry Potter.
