This year I’ve started to play more and more with false nails. They’re just such a quick and easy way to jazz up your look. I love creating my own nail art but it is nice to have a little break now and then and let someone else do the hard part (so you can just focus on the having fabulous nails part!) Talking of fabulous nails, the talented Laura from Lauras Pills contacted me and asked if I’d like a set of her false nails made especially for me. Yes please! Laura designs, paints and sells her range of fake nails in her Etsy store and has so many great designs to choose from. I loved the look of her Red and Silver Stiletto False Nails* which are great for a night out, and are absolutely perfect for the Christmas party season.
My nails arrived in a gorgeous little hand made wallet which shows off Laura’s amazing creativity even before you’ve got to the nails! The packet looked so cute, and it was with a heavy heart that I had to rip into it to find my lovely new nails nestled amongst the strips of protective bubble wrap.
It was well worth it once I did get in though – look how pretty they are! I love the pinky red colour – it’s really unusual and I think makes them much more wearable than if they were a true pillarbox red. The silver detailing looks really chic and cool and the silver sequin accent nails is sooooo sparkly – my inner magpie is very happy indeed! I also love how Laura provided me with 6 nails for each hand (5 red and silver, and one silver sequin) so I can mix up my look and opt in or out of having an accent nail. This would be such a fun way of quickly updating your look going from office to bar or day to night.
I’ve never tried stiletto nails before as am not usually a fan of overly long talons, but Laura had asked me to send the measurements of my nails beforehand so she could get them to the perfect length for me – and perfect length she got! Despite the pointed tip which I thought may make them tricky to wear, these nails are really wearable and manageable. And they look AWESOME! The stiletto point is such a sassy statement and really makes my nails stand out.
Laura’s nails don’t come with any adhesive so you need to use your own glue or nail stickers but as these are so widely available it’s not a problem and also let’s you pick your preference of adhesive and brand (I like to use the Elegant Touch Super Adhesive Tabs as they stick on really well and have never yet damaged my nails – **touch wood!**)
*Thank you so much to Laura for sending me a set of her gorgeous false nails to review. All thoughts are honest and my own, For more information please see my Disclaimer Page.
