Last Monday I went along to the Vouchercodes.co.uk #VCSwapShop14 event. The idea of the event was for each blogger to take 5 items of new / good condition clothing or accessories they no longer wear and in return you could swap them for the pieces other people had brought. Brilliant! As they say, one blogger’s trash is another blogger’s treasure!
The event was held at The Gallery Soho on Charing Cross Road and split over 2 floors. On the first floor was a bar serving some AMAZING Mojitos and English Garden cocktails, as well as a pick and mix table and some Mother Clucker (great name!) fried chicken delights! Well I was sold before I’d even seen the clothes! As we were all asked to stay downstairs while the clothes were all sorted and set out upstairs, Vouchercodes.co.uk had also organised a craft table run by Pinned It! Made It! where you could bejewel your own pair of tights, and an AMAZINGLY talented balloon artist Twistina who was making bespoke balloon bracelets and headbands.
I didn’t get round to making a pair of tights sadly, but Pinned It! Made It! run regular events at The Book Club in Shoreditch, which I definitely want to make a night of. Twistina did however make me an AMAZING balloon penguin, complete with flashing light in his tummy! Adorable!
Now, onto the best bit…THE CLOTHES! I had a good root through my wardrobe and decided to take:
1) Forever 21 red and white striped bag I bought in Texas
2) ASOS leather and faux pony hair leopard print laptop bag
3) Primark over the knee black and tan riding boots – worn once
4) Primark spike-embellished neckline top – never worn!
5) Oasis leather look tan overnight bag
The clothes were all sorted into rails according to estimated value, and were labelled “1/2/3 stamps“, which was how much each item “cost” (though I’m pretty sure everything got all muddled together once us bloggers were unleashed on the rails! It was a bit like a Zara sale. Carnage!) There were some really nice pieces and even some brand spanking new items given from associated brands like Dorothy Perkins, Urban Outfitters and New Look. There were even some “Star Items” including a pair of Chloe Platforms!

Here are the fab bits and pieces I picked up:
My favourite swap item! I’m known for wearing riduclous tshirts and jumpers at festivals, so this will be perfect for summer fun!
This tshirt will also be great for festivals and casual outfits. I love the oversized fit and rolled up sleeves!
This is really cute, and can easily be dressed up or down.
I thought this was really pretty and couldn’t believe it was still on the rails!
I love these shoes! I remember seeing people wearing them last season and thinking how cute they were, and again they’ll be great festival shoes this summer.
We were also all given a goody bag to take away with us, which was really generous and included:
Boden navy and green purse
Dorothy Perkins 3-in-1 necklace
Matalan voucher
Models Own nail buffer
Nair Brazilian Spa Clay Shower Power Cream
What a great idea, looks like great fun… especially the sweets table!x
Hehe! I had to be very restrained when filling up my sweetie bag lol! xx
Minne Mocs! You preppy American, you!
Heehee! π xx
