High flying nails
So you may have seen last week I posted about the temporary nail tattoos* I was sent by faketattoos.org.uk I was super excited to try them out and start playing with some fun designs! I had planned to try out lots of different looks and show multiple here, but I was so impressed with the one I went with first, and it lasted so well, I didn’t want to take it off! So I will do a mini series of designs to show you all the different looks I try out. Here’s number 1 – the classic Paper Aeroplane Mani!
This is a well known design – having done the rounds on many a Pinterest board! I’ve always loved it and wanted to try it myself, but have never had steady enough hands to pull it off freehand! So when I received the Ocean Design* sheet, which included some little paper aeroplane tattoos I knew I had to give it a whirl!
First I painted my nails with the perfect blue sky colour (using the aptly named Blue Sky by NYC In A New York Colour Minute) Then I applied the paper aeroplane tattoos to my thumb nails, which was really simple:
- Cut out the design from the sheet
- Peel off the plastic covering
- Press the tattoo onto the nail, and then continue to press using wet paper
- Slowly remove the backing paper from the tattoo and the design should stick there
I then used my Models Own black nail art pen to draw a little dotted trail across my nails to show the flight path of the aeroplane, before sealing it all in place with a top coat.
It’s such a simple design to create, and looks really cool! I’ve certainly had lots of compliments for this Midweek Manicure! I was really impressed with the ease with which the Fake Tattoos* applied and also their staying power. I can’t wait to try out some more designs and share them with you soon!!!
What do you think of my Paper Aeroplane Mani?
