Well jingle my bells and call me Santa – it’s only blimmin December! I literally cannot believe how fast this year has gone, I feel like I only just took down my Christmas decorations and now I’ve put them back up again! Before I get going with my Christmas blog posts it’s only right I look back over my November Favourites. So let’s get going…
Seventeen Falsifeye HD Mascara
Last month I started with my random / lifestyle faves so this time I’ll begin with beauty bits! First up is the Seventeen Falsifeye HD Mascara. I love this stuff! It gives amazing lift, length and volume to my lashes and I often have people ask which mascara I’m using when I’m wearing it. It gives quite a lot of separation and looks very pretty, and is an absolute bargain at only £6.99. Loving your work Seventeen!
Make Up a Revolution Iconic Pro Lipstick – You’re a Star
I actually featured a nude Make Up Revolution lipstick in last month’s favourites but I am just loving the my lips but better look right now! I think I actually prefer this Iconic Pro lipstick (partly because of its gorgeous black and rose gold packaging – you’ll notice this being used as a photo prop a lot at the moment!) It’s a little bit more expensive than the other Make Up Revolution lipstick, but at £2.49 it’s still an absolute banger of a bargain. It has a really moisturising formula, stays put for ages and the pink toned nude suits absolutely every occasion.
Primark Chlesea Boots
A fashion fave now! I have been on the hunt for the perfect pair of Chelsea boots for the last two years but they never seem to fit me quite right and are always super uncomfortable. Who knew I’d find the boots of my dreams for a mere £12 in Primark?! Despite swearing I’d never buy non leather boots again, I couldn’t resist these beauties and have been wearing them so much in the last month. They are mega comfy, look really cute with a little dress or skirt, and I’m still figuring out how to pair them with jeans and look cool rather than like a middle aged Duke of Edinburgh leader, but have faith I can do it!
Another fashiony type favourite is this really useful and stylish tech clutch. “What?!” I hear you cry! I got sent this double compartment pouch just before I went away on holiday and it was perfect for keeping my iPhone and iPod safe and secure – and easy to find – in my big hand luggage bag, and also in my beach bag. It was brilliant having them kept together, but separate from all the other junk in my bag, and particularly when at the beach so I knew I wouldn’t get sand into my electricals. I’ve been using it in my regular handbag since I’ve been home too, to keep them handy and not covered in moisturiser, hand sanitiser and lipstick. I love the neutral and bright orange colours together and think it looks really stylish. It’s also the perfect size for popping to the shop with my keys in one side and phone and debit card in the other. It also fits my Olympus PEN camera too which is great, and I love that I can keep the camera in one side and accessories like the external flash and a spare SD card in the other. My inner Monica Geller is very happy about this! The STM Grace range specialises in stylish tech accessories and also includes laptop sleeves and bags which all come in a range of cute colour combinations. I definitely recommend checking them out.
The Walking Dead
I love to tell you what I’ve been watching, and this month it’s been all about The Walking Dead. Woah nelly this season has been AMAZING! Last season got a little bit slow and boring (a whole episode dedicated to Beth wanting to get drunk?!) but it’s been more than made up for this time around. The first three episodes were particularly action packed and I literally nearly fell off the sofa when that thing happened to that main character (no spoilers here folks!) If you’ve never seen the show – start from the very beginning this Christmas, you won’t regret it – and if you are already a fan please come and chat to me on Twitter about it! #WalkerStalker
The Girl on the Train
Last month I decided to go out on a bit of a limb and download a completely different type of book from Audible. I usually go for chick lit, bonk busters or (alarmingly) celebrity autobiographies. I thought it was about time I finally gave into the hype though and downloaded Paula Hawkins’ The Girl on the Train. I am so glad I did – I absolutely LOVED IT! It’s actually now one of my favourite ever books! Told from the point of view of three female first person narrators, we hear the story of how their lives interweave and try to understand and solve a murder enquiry. They’re making the book into a film which is due out in 2016 so I definitely recommend giving it a read beforehand as I never find film adaptations as good.
McDonalds Signature Collection Classic Burger*
It’s no secret that I’m rather partial to a burger or three, and whilst I love the many upmarket burger bar offerings which have sprung up in London, you can’t beat a bit of Maccers every now and then can you?! Last month they released their Signature Collection which offers high quality ingredients, upmarket flavours and even a brioche style bun. Oh Ronald! Of course I had to give one a go and whilst I initially felt guilty for cheating on my beloved Quarter Pounder with Cheese right on its own doorstop, I was soon focussed solely on my love for the new burger in town! The Classic Signature Burger includes a 100% British and Irish beef patty, two rashers of Beechwood smoked bacon, natural cheddar cheese, Batvia lettuce, red onion, ketchup and wholegrain mustard mayo and is absolutely AMAZING! Even my mum (who wouldn’t normally ever want to eat at the Golden Arches) would like this burger! The Signature Collection also includes a BBQ and Spicy Burger so get on down to your local branch and watch the burger snobs convert before your very eyes!
So there you go – November Favourites done and dusted, it’s time to get well and truly festive!
What were your favourites for November?
And how excited are you for CHRISTMAS?!
