Oh Primark I do love you! I seem to be constantly running in and out of the Tottenham Court Road store. I’m like a moth to a flame! I obviously had subconscious withdrawal symptoms whilst in Turkey last week as I just couldn’t resist a little trip in at the weekend. (Also, slightly off topic- in Turkey we saw a shop in a trashy tourist resort called “Primarni” and at the Fethiye Tuesday Market many of the stall owners told us they were “the Turkish Primark!” haha!) Sorry, I’ll stop banging on about my holiday now – though if you do want to hear more have a read of this – and get on with THE HAUL! (Any one else read that in the voice of the little green aliens in Toy Story?!)
It’s not a big one but I do love everything I bought so thought you’d like to have a looksie too:
I have a classic khaki Parker I’ve been wearing literally since my school days but it’s more of a coat than a light weight waterproof, and my actual waterproof is covered in years of festival grime and rave paint so I don’t like to really take it with me to work (I’m just so corporate daaahling….) I saw these little jackets and thought they’d be perfect for shoving in my handbag so I don’t get absolutely drenched next time we have another of our summer downpours (there’s been too many of them for my liking this week!) They come in loads of different colours and designs, and are really roomy so you can wear a jumper underneath no problem. It’s really lightweight and actually folds in on itself so you can pack it literally into it’s pocket! I loved this idea as I always seem to lose the pouch bits of things like this and then they’re useless! This is literally idiot proof (if I can work out how to fold it into it’s pocket….!)
I’ve been loving these thin bar style necklaces for ages but they’ve always either been gold or a little bit too thick and chunky for me. Ta daaaaahhh! This little beauty shimmered and shone out to me – silver, thin, and with lovely little incisions on the bar which make it look really sparkly. This is just gorgeous! And it was only £1.50. ONE POUND FIFTY PEOPLE!!! I should have bought 5……
On a jazzy jewellery roll from nabbing the above, I saw this and rather liked it. It’s quite a snazzy statement necklace with diamantes, arrow heads and colourful stitching and I just thought it was really pretty and would be perfect for adding some interest to a plain outfit.
How nice are these little guys?! I love nude accessories and shoes and thought these looked really nice and a lot sturdier than many of Primark’s pumps. I love the mix of suedette and patent faux snakeskin, and the gold bar gives them a really luxe feel. Six pounds well spent!
I’ve never tried any of the Primark lipsticks as I thought they’d probably be really rubbish and likely to irritate my sensitive lips! Then I threw caution to the wind and thought if there’s one way to cure the post holiday blues it’s by buying a new lipstick! They didn’t appear to have names but I went for this corally type colour which is really pretty and very wearable. The quality is actually really good and it hasn’t irritated my lips. Hurrah!
I also bought some cotton buds but didn’t think they really warranted a photo – boring! They were 200 for 80p though which I thought was pretty good, and I will definitely look to Primark for more beauty essentials in the future.
I live in Brixton in London. I eat out far too much, am always planning my next trip and have a borderline unhealthy obsession with Harry Potter.
