Fashion // Primark Haul July 2014

July 10, 2014

Oh Primark I do love you! I seem to be constantly running in and out of the Tottenham Court Road store. I’m like a moth to a flame! I obviously had subconscious withdrawal symptoms whilst in Turkey last week as I just couldn’t resist a little trip in at the weekend. (Also, slightly off topic- in Turkey we saw a shop in a trashy tourist resort called “Primarni” and at the Fethiye Tuesday Market many of the stall owners told us they were “the Turkish Primark!” haha!) Sorry, I’ll stop banging on about my holiday now – though if you do want to hear more have a read of this – and get on with THE HAUL! (Any one else read that in the voice of the little green aliens in Toy Story?!)

It’s not a big one but I do love everything I bought so thought you’d like to have a looksie too:

1) Black Parker in a Pocket – £9

I have a classic khaki Parker I’ve been wearing literally since my school days but it’s more of a coat than a light weight waterproof, and my actual waterproof is covered in years of festival grime and rave paint so I don’t like to really take it with me to work (I’m just so corporate daaahling….) I saw these little jackets and thought they’d be perfect for shoving in my handbag so I don’t get absolutely drenched next time we have another of our summer downpours (there’s been too many of them for my liking this week!) They come in loads of different colours and designs, and are really roomy so you can wear a jumper underneath no problem. It’s really lightweight and actually folds in on itself so you can pack it literally into it’s pocket! I loved this idea as I always seem to lose the pouch bits of things like this and then they’re useless! This is literally idiot proof (if I can work out how to fold it into it’s pocket….!)

2) Silver Thin Bar Delicate Necklace – £1.50

I’ve been loving these thin bar style necklaces for ages but they’ve always either been gold or a little bit too thick and chunky for me. Ta daaaaahhh! This little beauty shimmered and shone out to me – silver, thin, and with lovely little incisions on the bar which make it look really sparkly. This is just gorgeous! And it was only £1.50. ONE POUND FIFTY PEOPLE!!! I should have bought 5……

3) Gold and Turquoise Triangle Necklace – £5

On a jazzy jewellery roll from nabbing the above, I saw this and rather liked it. It’s quite a snazzy statement necklace with diamantes, arrow heads and colourful stitching and I just thought it was really pretty and would be perfect for adding some interest to a plain outfit.

4) Reptile Toe Cap Nude Pumps – £6

How nice are these little guys?! I love nude accessories and shoes and  thought these looked really nice and a lot sturdier than many of Primark’s pumps. I love the mix of suedette and patent faux snakeskin, and the gold bar gives them a really luxe feel. Six pounds well spent!

5) P.S Love Lipstick – Coral colour – £1

I’ve never tried any of the Primark lipsticks as I thought they’d probably be really rubbish and likely to irritate my sensitive lips! Then I threw caution to the wind and thought if there’s one way to cure the post holiday blues it’s by buying a new lipstick! They didn’t appear to have names but I went for this corally type colour which is really pretty and very wearable. The quality is actually really good and it hasn’t irritated my lips. Hurrah!

I also bought some cotton buds but didn’t think they really warranted a photo – boring! They were 200 for 80p though which I thought was pretty good, and I will definitely look to Primark for more beauty essentials in the future.

Have you bought anything in Primark recently? Please send me your blog and YouTube links, I LOVE looking at other people’s Primark hauls!

After a period of going into Primark every single weekend I've managed to stay out for a few weeks now but seeing this has made me want to go back – argh!I have one of the Parkas in a Pocket, I love it! I've only used it in light showers so far though, I do wonder how it would cope with a complete downpour (hoping I don't find out!)Really really love the shoes, they're gorgeous!Chloe

    • Emsypickle says:

Haha Chloe! You're one of my fave Primark enablers lol! Yes I'm not sure I'd like to have been wearing it in the storms this weekend! Hopefully it will be good for the odd light shower though! I think the shoes are my favourite purchase they're so pretty and remind me of some LK Bennett ones I was lusting over! xx

  3. Rhiannon Pulling says:

The Parkas in a Pocket are so handy – I've got two! haah Love the shoes and lipstick, I've always been a bit cautious of Primark beauty stuff but maybe times are a changing 🙂

    • Emsypickle says:

I've been exactly the same Rhiannon, and am so glad I gave it a try – I'm loving the lipstick! Let me know if you try any of their beauty range out 🙂 xx

What a sweet haul. I'm not a Primark girl (more a charity shop maven), but I love nosing in other people's shops!

    • Emsypickle says:

I love checking out charity shops but haven't had much luck at finding any gems recently. You've inspired me to have another go though! I will post on here if I find anything good 🙂 xx

  5. Lou Jay says:

I absolutely love that fold away parka, so adorable, and such a good price!

    • Emsypickle says:

Definitely Lou! That's one of my favourite things about Primark – it's all so cheap if I don't like something after a while I don't feel too bad about getting rid of it and buying something new! xx

  6. Lemon Tierres says:

  7. Emsypickle says:
