Coast is not a brand I shop that often, as I usually tend to style myself on the more casual end of smart casual! However they do some really gorgeous pieces perfect for dressing up that little bit smarter, and for special occasions such as a wedding. Here’s my pick of some of the Coast collection sold at John Lewis:
1. Coast Matilda Dress, Yellow – £95
I LOVE this dress! It’s such a pretty lemony yellow with a gorgeous jacquard white pattern. It’s high necked meaning it would be great for work, but is nipped in at the waist to give it structure and a lovely silhouette. This dress is so pretty, it would be lovely worn outside the office too and easily dressed up or down.
2. Coast Eagle Embellished Top, Pink – £55
This is a really pretty dusty blush pink colour which is perfect for all seasons as it would look great with either dark or light coloured bottoms. It would look fab with a black pencil skirt for work, or a pair of white jeans for evening drinks with the girls! The style is simple and elegant, but with an added bit of glitz from the embellished collar.
3. Coast Scarf, Coral – £25
This scarf is such a gorgeous bright coral colour, it would instantly liven up any outfit! I often find myself drawn to darker colour dresses when dressing for smarter occasions like weddings, but then wonder whether I look a bit too dark and dreary. This scarf layered on top of a navy or black dress would really lift the ensemble and give it an instant summery vibe, and it would also look beautiful over lighter colours too. The frayed edges make it look light and delicate, and also mean it would be fab worn with jeans and a white t-shirt for low key summer fun.
Cobalt blue has been huge this season, and this beautiful crepe maxi dress is a really easy way to wear it. It’s such a gorgeous bright blue it’s fab for summer, and the embellished belt adds shape and adds a bit of pretty sparkle which would be perfect for the Christmas party season too. Maxi dresses are so versatile, and again can be dressed up or down to suit the occasion. I’d style this with a little jacket during the day, or with simple silver jewellery in the evening, to let the dramatic deep-V cowl back take centre stage.
I really love this bag! Neutral accessories are so easy to wear and go with everything, but add an extra bit of class that dark accessories don’t in my opinion. The mix of textures is very on-trend this season, and will add interest to any outfit, and the silver and blush colours are lovely and feminine.
6. Coast Allure Short Dress, Thyme – £145
This is such a pretty dress and would be perfect for a summer wedding! The colour is to die for, and the sort of thing I can imagine having my bridesmaids wear at my wedding. I really like the tube style cross-ruched top and floaty skirt – its very classic and elegant. The satin flower waist tie adds extra detailing and an interesting mix of textures.
I live in Brixton in London. I eat out far too much, am always planning my next trip and have a borderline unhealthy obsession with Harry Potter.
