Speckled nail polishes are big news at Easter, and since Illamasqua first released their Imperfection Collection there have been several dupes on the high street (Models Own have just released their own set). In a February shopping haul I picked up this little Primark version half price for only £1 (how could I resist?!), however I saw it back in stores last week for £2. Is this budget polish an Easter egg-sential or a bit of a cracked purchase?!
I just want to start by apologising for not showing these swatches on my actual nails. I’m trying to strengthen them, so am trying not to use glitter polishes for a while as I always find I need to use loads of nail polish remover to take them off! I wore this polish the other week but sadly didn’t take any photos – gahhh bad blogger! – and can vouch that these glitter particles are very hard to remove!
I really like the base colour of this polish. It’s a grey toned lilac which makes it great to wear all year round – more so than some of the other branded speckled collections which are mostly Spring pastel shades. It’s also a very work-friendly colour. The glitter particles are also really pretty – a mix of different sized silver / grey hexagons and speckles.
The coverage is quite good too – two coats and the lilac base was opaque, even though I was worried the formula was a bit thin to begin with.
