Beauty // Green People Scent-Free Light Day Moisturiser & Scent-Free Hydrating Calming Serum

I have been meaning to blog about Green People for the longest time as they are one of my all time favourite brands! I have very sensitive eczema prone skin, particularly on my face, and have to be really careful about what products I use. Most high streets brands are an absolute no-no (I'm even allergic to Simple, and had a horrific reaction to Garnier once) but Green People has done wonders for my skin. All their products are completely SLS and paraben free and they even have a Scent-Free range which is perfect for delicate flowers like myself! I've been using their Scent-Free products for a while and they really have revolutionised my skin care routine, so I was very excited to hear they were adding more to the collection. Green People very kindly sent me a couple of their new products to try out - the Scent-Free Light Day Moisturiser* and Scent-Free Hydrating Calming Serum*, and I've got to tell you - they're incredible!

I have never used a serum before as, due to my sensitive skin, I've literally used the bare minimum on my face to avoid the potential of an adverse reaction (#SensitiveSkinProbs) I have always heard the benefits of a serum however so am thrilled that a brand I trust and have only had positive experiences from now has one for me to try! The Green People Scent-Free Hydrating Calming Serum contains extracts of Everlasting Flower, Green Algae and Irish Moss (can't get more natural than that!) and promises to hydrate, calm and firm my skin (perfect for me - having just turned 30 I need all the help fighting saggy wrinkles that I can get!)

Green People recommend applying the serum to freshly cleansed skin using light tapping motions which I've been doing day and night. Despite being quite a wet gel like consistency, the serum absorbs so quickly into my skin and makes it feel instantly hydrated and plumped. It provides a lovely base for me to then add on the Green People Light Day Moisturiser and then my make up. Being quite a lazy girl who would go for an extra 10 minutes in bed over adding an extra step into her morning routine, I was sure I would become a bit bored of using the serum and jump straight it to moisturising but my face feels so much better when I have used it - I haven't gone a day without it! Because it absorbs so quickly it also doesn't add much time to my morning routine either - perfect. The only thing I'm not keen on with the serum is the smell. It's not unpleasant but does smell quite woody (from its natural ingredients - not artificially added perfumes - this is the Scent-Free range after all!) which can be a bit much first thing in the morning. This is definitely something I've got use to over time of using the product though and barely notice it now.

I've been applying the new Scent-Free Light Day Moisturiser each morning after the Hydrating Calming Serum and it is literally  incredible. The Light Day Moisturiser has transformed my dry skin and adds an instant boost of hydration. Like the serum, it is immediately absorbed, doesn't leave any greasy residue and leaves my skin feeling light, silky and refreshed, without feeling weighed down or clogged. I do wish it included SPF protection however so I always have a light layer of sun block to help keep my skin safe from harmful rays.

I'm so happy with the new additions to the Scent-Free range and they have both become firm favourites and absolute staples in my skincare routine. Both the Hydrating Calming Serum and the Light Day Moisturiser come in handy 50ml tubes with simple, chic white and grey packaging. Each comes with a pump applicator which is really convenient, hygienic and let's you control how much product you use. I just wish they came in larger 200ml sizes too so I can have a big bottle of each for use at home and keep the 50mls for taking on my travels. The Hydrating Calming Serum is £17.50 and the Light Day Moisturiser is £16.50, which I think is a fantastic price considering the quality of the products and fact they include all organic and natural ingredients. Green People also frequently have discount codes available too so follow them on Twitter to keep your eyes peeled for these!
