Midweek Manicure // Models Own - Aciiied

I've got a bit of a Marmite nail polish for today's Midweek Manicure - whenever I wear it some people tells me they love it and some people tell me they hate it! Well I am very firmly in the LOVE IT category but am interested to know what you think. So what is this controversial polish I hear you ask?! It's Models Own Aciiied.

One of the things I love about Aciiied is how it changes colour dependant on what light you're in. It can go from being a bright yellow toned acid green to a dark mustard yellow - both of which I think look fab! I have no other polishes even close to these shades in my collection and think they're so cool and compliment and clash with so many outfits! (I'm a big fan of contrasting nails!)

As is typical of Models Own nail polishes, Aciiied applies well - two coats and you've got a pretty good even coverage (please ignore the little dent on my middle finger! Knocked it against my 70's glasses while setting up the photo, didn't I?! Doh!) The brush is quite thin compared to some of the other polishes I've been loving recently though (dreamy Nicole by OPI Alex by the Brooks I'm looking at you) but it does the job.

The acid green and mustard yellow tones of Aciiied make it the perfect match for the 70's trend which is big right now. I actually wore Aciiied this weekend to finish off my fancy dress outfit for a 70's party I went to and it worked perfectly. Just for fun I thought I'd put some photos from the party below! I went as a hippie, there was a whole lot of wig action going on, and the prize for best costume had to go to Gemma and Charlie who turned up as cheese and pineapple on a stick - AMAZING!

  1. I haven't even tried one Models Own nailpolish! They don't sell the brand in my country and whenever I'm in the UK there are just so much more interesting things to pick up. I do really like the colour of this particular one!

  2. I am firmly in the love camp here but I'm obsessed with everything yellow and am now wondering if this is different enough to the 3 yellow polishes I already own to justify a purchase...I really like models own polishes, I get on so much easier with them than bigger brushes and they seem to wear really well on me.
Your 70s costumes are so cute too and I love your friends cheese and pineapple idea though, best couples costume I've seen! x
