Fashion // JewelleryBox.co.uk

Jewellery makes me so happy. I literally can't leave the house without my earrings in, a statement necklace, a watch and typically at least five rings on. Jewellery really completes and can transform an outfit for me and I always love to add to my collection (did you see my recent bargain jewellery haul?!) I'm always on the hunt for beautiful new pieces and new treasure troves to explore so I was very excited to stumble across JewelleryBox.co.uk on social media. I was even more excited when their lovely Gemma later contacted me to say that they'd like to send me a few of their gorgeous pieces to try. Yes please!

The things that struck me when I first discovered JewelleryBox.co.uk was how pretty all their pieces were, how there was literally something for everyone, and how affordable it all seemed.

When my little parcel arrived in the post I actually did a little excited squeal at my desk - look how cute it is! Brown paper packages tied up with string actually are one of my favourite things and I loved the vintage luggage style tag and teeny tiny clothes peg attached. It was almost a shame to rip into it! I'm mighty glad I did though as Gemma picked out some really gorgeous things for me - thank you Gemma!

Stud earring are my everyday choice and how pretty are these Sterling Silver Small Seashell Earrings*?! They're a really great size and the textured detail is lovely, and for £6 they're an absolute bargain! I was also sent the matching Sterling Silver Cute Seashell Pendant* which is just perfect for summer and releasing my inner Ariel (my thighs touch, I am part mermaid). I really like dainty necklaces in the summer, when big statement ones can be a bit big and heavy, and the delicate silver link chain is really nice and light. You can also choose how long you want your chain which is great or even buy the pendant on it's own with prices starting from £6.

fashion-blog-jewellery-jewelry-jewellerybox.co.uk-seashell-shell-mermaid-summer-sterling-silver-arrow-ring-bargain-affordable-present-gift

My package also included this uber cool Sterling Silver Arrow Design Adjustable Midi Toe Ring*. Jazzy rings are my ultimate favourite accessory and I love the detail on this one. It is technically a toe ring but I'd prefer to wear it on my hands, and I think it is slightly too big for your toes, despite being adjustable. I have quite thin fingers so this adjustable style is perfect for me and I think the delicate body of the arrow looks lovely.

I definitely recommend checking out JewelleryBox.co.uk their pieces are really well made and an absolute bargain for the price. They stock so many different styles and products with beautiful gems, silver, gold and rose gold finishes. Their packaging is just gorgeous and I think I will be getting all my girlfriends (and myself!!) presents from here from now on!

Beauty // MakeUp Revolution Haul

A few weeks ago I posted a mammoth haul including a sneak peek at lots of lovely MakeUp Revolution goodies I bought. My experience of their products is that they're all fantastic quality and all super affordable, so of course I couldn't just order one or two things! I thought it was about time I gave you a proper look at these pretty purchases...
**WARNING: This post contains A LOT of lip products!**

beauty-blog-makeuprevolution-makeup-revolution-make-up-revolution-haul-beauty-haul-lipgloss-lipstick-dupe-drugstore-beauty-bargain-rose-gold-purple-lips-lip-crayon-brow-pencil

Amazing Lipstick - Bliss, Sweatheart & Nude - £1 each

One of my favourite lipsticks EVER is Enchant from the MakeUp Revolution Amazing Lipsticks range. It's brilliant quality for just £1 and I've been dying to try more. I really liked the look of Bliss (peachy coral) and Sweetheart (pretty pale pink) and you can never have too many Nude lipsticks.

#LipHug - Good Fun & I Wasn't Mixed Up - £2.50 each

More lipsticks! I've not tried any of the #LipHugs before but they promise to be "a high-shine formula featuring an array of creamy emollients, providing a lasting, glossy finish that leaves lips smooth and sculpted". Yes please! I chose Good Fun (a corally pink) and I Wasn't Mixed Up (a beautiful purple). I'm really excited to try these out!

Salvation Lacquer Lipglosses - £3 each

Well obviously I hadn't ordered enough lip products.....! I went for three of the Salvation Velvet Lacquers which have a matte finish - Keep Lying For You (a stunning purple) I Fall In Love (bright hot pink) and What I Believe (a nude pink shade). I also picked up pinky purple Gave You All My Love, which is a Salvation Intense Lip Lacquer high shine gloss. I love all these shades and can we please just swoon over how pretty the rose gold packaging is too?!

I Heart MakeUp Wow Stick - Rap-Ture - £3.49

You can't beat a good lip crayon and I love that these are called Wow Sticks! According to the box they're supposed to give a really high impact glossy finish (though the product is actually matte) and this bright hot pink will be perfect for summer. Also, not going to lie, I partly chose it because the name Rap-Ture kind of sounds like raptor and that excited my Jurassic Park obsessed mind way too much to resist!

Awesome Brow Dual Arch & Shape - Medium - £3.50

I really struggle to do anything with my brows as nothing really seems to work quite right for me. I've heard some amazing things about the Soap & Glory Brow Archery which has a wax pencil on one end and felt tip on the other, but wasn't too keen on splashing out £10 for a product I might not get on with. Hurrah for MakeUp Revolution! The Dual Arch and Shape looks set to be an amazing dupe for a third of the price so even if it doesn't work for me it won't have broken the bank.

I'm so excited to play with all my goodies (even though I bought them a couple weeks back I still haven't got round to trying them all out) Let me know if you'd like a closer look or individual reviews of any thing.

Have you tried out anything I bought?

Midweek Manicure // Neon Feather Festival Nail Art

Festival season is well underway and although I'm not actually going to one this year (at the moment anyway) I still like to get into the spirit of things with some bright, jazzy nails! I adore white nails for the summer and thought these beautiful neon feather nail decals would look amazing over the top.

beauty-blog-bblogger-fashion-fblogger-festival-nail-art-midweek-manicure-monday-manicure-white-nails-feather-glastonbury-summer-neon-barry-m-gelly-high-shine-cotton-models-own-hyper-gel-white-light

I'm always on the hunt for the perfect white nail polish. Last year I was all about Models Own Hyper Gel White Light, (you can see some of my nail art looks with this here, here and here!) However my bottle has gone a bit tacky now so before buying a new one I thought I'd play with a few other options. For this mani I used Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine in the colour Cotton. It's a really lovely bright "tippex" white and applies pretty well. I used two coats to get a fully opaque covering.

beauty-blog-bblogger-fashion-fblogger-festival-nail-art-midweek-manicure-monday-manicure-white-nails-feather-glastonbury-summer-neon-barry-m-gelly-high-shine-cotton-models-own-hyper-gel-white-light

I love trawling eBay to find cheap nail art supplies and was thrilled with this feather design. I actually got 5 packs for 99p which is an absolute bargain! I think nail decals are perfect for festival nail art as you use less nail polish, so there's less chance it will chip off and your nails will withstand festival fun for longer. It's also obviously a really quick and easy way of having some pretty intricate patterns.

The nail decals were super easy to use. Just cut around the shape, soak it in water for a few seconds, peel off the back coat and then place gently on the nail. I added a slick of top coat to seal the deal and voila - good to go! The feathers did rip slightly as I added the top coat but it all adds to the boho / shabby chic appearance of the design!

I really like the look of this nail art. The bright bold feathers are so perfect for festivals and the colours look awesome against the white background. I just need to get me some tickets now!

Beauty // MeMeMe Cosmetics Long Wear Satin Lip Creams

MeMeMe Cosmetics is a brand I've never tried before but always hear wonderful things about, and they always seem to have the most beautiful ranges of colours across all their products. Recently I was very kindly sent two of the MeMeMe Long Wear Satin Lip Creams in the colours Selene - Pashmina Pink* and Hemera - Coral Cloak* and I couldn't wait to give them a go.

mememecosmetics-mememe-cosmetics-long-wear-satin-lip-cream-lipstick-lip-balm-pashmina-pink-selene-hemera-coral-cloak-pink-lips-coral-lips-orange-lipstick-drugstore-summer-makeup-cosmetics-beauty-blog-fashion-festival-makeup-make-up

The Lip Creams are said to be "Long lasting lip colour, super vitamin enriched for luxuriously soft alluring lips, with the perfect shade to suit every look". Sounds good to me! The Lip Creams also contain "the highest amount of Shea butter that is possible to integrate within a formulation with it still remaining in a lipstick form, allowing for a soft, highly moisturising finish". They certainly are very buttery and creamy to wear, applying really easily and feeling very comfortable on my lips. They really do moisturise my lips, which is fab as I have quite dry lips by nature and some lip products definitely dry them out even more. I do find that when I first apply the Lip Creams they cling to dry patches but soon melt in and sit smoothly. Both Lip Creams are satin finish which I really like as they still have a pretty glossy sheen to them, but with the impact and pigmentation of a matte. They last quite well on my lips but due to being so soft melt fairly quickly where my lips meet, so it's definitely worth keeping it with you to touch up application. Even as they do wear off however, they leave a pretty stain of colour behind all over the lips so you're not left with the dreaded lipstick ring.

Selene - Pashmina Pink

Pashmina Pink is a light, cool toned frosty pink which looks very pretty in the sunny weather we've been having. Unfortunately I think this shade is slightly too light to suit my skin tone and makes me look a bit washed out. Wahhh! It would look beautiful with a tan though, so roll on summer!

Hemera - Coral Cloak

Coral Cloak is a very orange toned coral, far more orange than peach, but I absolutely love it! It's a great shade to wear at festivals and, being so moisturising, is great for summer when the sun can dry lips out even more than usual. It's a really pigmented shade and quite unlike any other orange colours in my collection, which are mostly darker bolder oranges.

mememecosmetics-mememe-cosmetics-long-wear-satin-lip-cream-lipstick-lip-balm-pashmina-pink-selene-hemera-coral-cloak-pink-lips-coral-lips-orange-lipstick-drugstore-summer-makeup-cosmetics-beauty-blog-fashion-festival-makeup-make-up

The packaging of the Lip Creams is really pretty. Each box has a picture and name of a mythological goddess which is quite random but cool and I really like that the colour of the lipstick is used for the font of each box. The bullet casing itself is standard black with a nice matte. almost rubber like texture, and glossy swirls which is pretty and mirrors the satin finish of the lipsticks inside. They also have a good firm closing lid which makes a really satisfying click when closed - anyone else love this?! - which also means they're not likely to come loose and ruin your favourite handbag. Always a bonus!

mememecosmetics-mememe-cosmetics-long-wear-satin-lip-cream-lipstick-lip-balm-pashmina-pink-selene-hemera-coral-cloak-pink-lips-coral-lips-orange-lipstick-drugstore-summer-makeup-cosmetics-beauty-blog-fashion-festival-makeup-make-up

The MeMeMe Cosmetics Long Wear Satin Lip Creams retail at £8.95 which I think is a pretty reasonable price. Their lovely soft formulation is super moisturising, which is very welcome and the colour pay off is brilliant. The only thing you need to be careful of is not letting their beautiful buttery bullets melt in the sunshine!

Baking // Personalised Father's Day Biscuits - Neat Ideas Bake It Personal

My dad is an absolute hero so I always get excited to have an excuse to spoil him for Father's Day each year. He's a big biscuit fan and can often be found on the sofa with a cup of coffee and a biscuit (or three) whilst watching telly, so last year I baked him some personalised biscuits as part of his present. They went down a storm so I thought I'd share them with you guys today in case you fancied making some to celebrate Father's Day this weekend.

I bought a Neat Ideas Bake It Personal kit from Amazon which includes everything you need to bake cute cookies with your own personal messages on and at the moment is half price at just £3.99. The kit includes 3 shaped cookie cutters, 7 pre-made phrases, a bag of letters and a rack for you to spell out your own messages. The idea is that you make up your own recipe of biscuit dough and then slot your message into the cutters and lightly stamp them onto the biscuits as you cut them out.

I used my old faithful sugar biscuit recipe as I wanted something plain which wouldn't spread too much in the oven (so my messages would stand out clearly) I've blogged about that before here if you'd like to use it too. I decided to use the scalloped rectangle shape biscuit as it is quite traditional and has lots of space for the message to fit, and also the heart shaped cutter.

baking-lifestyle-food-blog-fathers-day-present-gift-guide-personalised-cookie-biscuit-homemade-sugar-biscuit-neat-ideas-bake-it-personal

I've always called my dad Curly (as he has curly hair...what an inventive child I was!) so went for the messages "Curlys Cookies", "Fathers Day" (clearly still inventive!) and "From Emsy" inside the heart shaped ones (so it kind of says "love from Emsy"... Getting slightly more inventive!)  I also made a few for my boyfriend using the "I love you" pre-made rack and a couple "Emsypickle" ones for me! (Some people want their names in lights, I'm happy with mine on a biscuit!)

baking-lifestyle-food-blog-fathers-day-present-gift-guide-personalised-cookie-biscuit-homemade-sugar-biscuit-neat-ideas-bake-it-personal

The cookie cutters themselves are pretty standard other than the fact that they have slots for you to insert letters to make your personal messages... And this is where it got a bit tricky! The cutter also operates as a type of stamp, so you press down the button on top which lightly stamps your letter onto the dough without going all the way through. This makes it difficult to slide in the letters as you have to try and push down the spring and slot in your letters at the same time, which is by no means easy! Regardless of having to keep the plunger pushed down, the letters themselves were very hard to slot in too. I found they were just too snug which made it so tricky to shimmy the letters along. I broke a lot of nails doing this and even had to get my boyfriend to help at times as I wasn't strong enough to push them in myself! Not a very relaxing baking experience! I also found that many of the letters had tiny bits of plastic stuck to them where they'd be manufactured in big sheets and been broken up, which meant they wouldn't actually fit in the racks at all so couldn't be used. Thankfully you get several of each letter so I could always spell out what I needed but it was quite annoying to have to keep fishing out another letter as some hasn't been made neatly enough.

baking-lifestyle-food-blog-fathers-day-present-gift-guide-personalised-cookie-biscuit-homemade-sugar-biscuit-neat-ideas-bake-it-personal
baking-lifestyle-food-blog-fathers-day-present-gift-guide-personalised-cookie-biscuit-homemade-sugar-biscuit-neat-ideas-bake-it-personal

Overall I was pleased with how my biscuits turned out. The letters hardly lost shape during the baking process so you could read the messages easily, although you do get the outlines of the lines of the rack imprinted as well as the letters which looks a bit messy (or "just proves they're homemade" as my dad said!) They tasted delicious though - my fail safe recipe worked again hurrah - and it was nice having the personalised messages on to jazz up the simple sugar biscuit look and flavour. I packaged them all up in a baking gift bag and tied with a ribbon which looked quite cute, and as you can see Curly was thrilled!

baking-lifestyle-food-blog-fathers-day-present-gift-guide-personalised-cookie-biscuit-homemade-sugar-biscuit-neat-ideas-bake-it-personal

I'm glad I used the Bake It Personal kit to make my biscuits as I think personalised gifts are so nice - and edible personalised gifts will always go down well! It's a shame it was so tricky to use though, and I have to say I haven't used it since. The kit does also include a free standing rack (not as part of a cutter / stamp) which I think would be easier to use as you cut out your cookie, load the letters into the separate stamp and press where required, which would make loading the letters a bit easier as you're not juggling the push mechanism at the same time. I'd also be quite keen to give just pressing the single letters straight into the dough to bypass any need for struggling to fit them into the rack at all, though I have a feeling this would look very messy "homemade"!

Have you tried using personalised cookie cutters before?

Please let me know below if you've got a set which is easier to use!

Fashion // Affordable Jewellery Haul - eBay & New Look

A couple of weeks ago I wrote about all the bits and pieces I've been buying recently (all of them essentials and absolute necessary purchases. Obvs!) I mentioned I'd bought *quite a lot* of jewellery - all of which was at a super bargainous price from New Look and eBay. I thought I'd give you a little looksie at what I got...

fashion-blog-affordable-jewellery-costume-jewelry-new-look-newlook-ebay-statement-necklace-festival-fashion-earrings-ring-watch-zara-dupe-mint-green-silver-coin

New Look

New Look has some absolutely stunning jewellery at the moment and they also keep having buy one get one free deals on (which I totally took advantage of). I always think their pieces are pretty well made and long lasting for the price.

I featured these in a summer occasion OOTD the other week. They're a really lovely size and great for adding a bit of sparkle to an outfit.

fashion-blog-affordable-jewellery-costume-jewelry-new-look-newlook-ebay-statement-necklace-festival-fashion-earrings-ring-watch-zara-dupe-mint-green-silver-coin

This ring set matches the earrings and look really lovely with all outfits.

Another ring! It's actually a finger tip ring but I wear it on my pinky. I love the colours of the moonstone and it's perfect for festival season.

fashion-blog-affordable-jewellery-costume-jewelry-new-look-newlook-ebay-statement-necklace-festival-fashion-earrings-ring-watch-zara-dupe-mint-green-silver-coin

Silver coin necklace - £7.99

I love a statement necklace but sometimes find they can be a bit too big, heavy and hot to wear in the summer. I thought this silver coin one was nice and light but still makes a statement.

fashion-blog-affordable-jewellery-costume-jewelry-new-look-newlook-ebay-statement-necklace-festival-fashion-earrings-ring-watch-zara-dupe-mint-green-silver-coin

Mint Green Multi Gem Triangle Necklace - £5.99

I love this delicate necklace. The mint green colour and silver sparkles look really pretty on.

fashion-blog-affordable-jewellery-costume-jewelry-new-look-newlook-ebay-statement-necklace-festival-fashion-earrings-ring-watch-zara-dupe-mint-green-silver-coin-haul

This silver sparkly flower necklace is also really nice, and a great delicate option for summer. This will be really good to wear to summer weddings.

eBay

I fully blame Donalyn from Love From Twinkle for my recent eBay addiction! She's the queen of statement necklaces and always tells me about the bargains that can be found on eBay - she's not wrong! These ones were all so cheap and although they mostly come from China so take a few weeks to arrive, it's well worth the wait.

I've got a blue and green stone necklace exactly the same style as this from Zara. It was £20 and is better quality, but this also makes it heavier. For just a few pounds I found this dupe in a lovely mint green / baby blue colour which is perfect for the summer.

fashion-blog-affordable-jewellery-costume-jewelry-new-look-newlook-ebay-statement-necklace-festival-fashion-earrings-ring-watch-zara-dupe-mint-green-silver-coin-haul

Well obviously it would be silly not to get another one in a different colour! This pink and coral one is very pretty.

fashion-blog-affordable-jewellery-costume-jewelry-new-look-newlook-ebay-statement-necklace-festival-fashion-earrings-ring-watch-zara-dupe-mint-green-silver-coin-haul

I was on a bit of a mint green necklace binge by this point so thought I'd pick up this pretty one too.

fashion-blog-affordable-jewellery-costume-jewelry-new-look-newlook-ebay-statement-necklace-festival-fashion-earrings-ring-watch-zara-dupe-mint-green-silver-coin-haul

Again, why not get it in more colours?! For less than under £2 it would be rude not to!

fashion-blog-affordable-jewellery-costume-jewelry-new-look-newlook-ebay-statement-necklace-festival-fashion-earrings-ring-watch-zara-dupe-mint-green-silver-coin-haul

I really like wearing a watch everyday but am always loathe to take my usual everyday ones with me to festivals or on certain trips in case they get lost or ruined. I thought this globe print one was gorgeous and at just £1.79 is such a bargain!

fashion-blog-affordable-jewellery-costume-jewelry-new-look-newlook-ebay-statement-necklace-festival-fashion-earrings-ring-watch-zara-dupe-mint-green-silver-coin-haul

Looks like my jewellery needs are sorted...for a while! I really like everything I bought and although there's a lot it was all so super cheap it doesn't matter! Right?!
