March 22, 2015

Helloooo! I hope you’ve had a lovely weekend! I’ve had another good couple of weeks and this Sunday’s InstaLIFE post includes a trip to the theatre, a concert at the Royal Albert Hall and lots and lots of foooooood!!!

Last Monday my boyfriend and I were invited down to Chilango Camden Town to try out their award winning burritos and my word they were gooooodd!! A full review of our meal will be live tomorrow so come back then for more mouthwatering details!

Somehow I still managing to be referencing my birthday a month later! I’m known for my love of Jurassic Park and all things dino-related and my best friend Lauren bought me this amazing Tea-Rex mug for my bday. How cute is it?! I used it for the first time the other day whilst having a hot chocolate and catching up on Teen Mom 3 – perfect!

I’m also still banging on about Paris! (#SorryNotSorry) I think I’m going to have to do a blog post to get all the lovely pictures and memories down on paper but in the meantime I’ll keep looking at them longingly! For Throwback Thursday I posted this picture of the iconic Paris Metro sign which I think sums up Paris so well – it’s so decorative, ornate and detailed. Gorgeous! A bit prettier than our London tube signs eh!

For Valentine’s Day I bought my boyfriend tickets to see The Play That Goes Wrong. I had actually already seen it with my mum but found it so funny I thought Tony would love it too, and luckily he did! I’m actually considering taking my dad to see it too as it really is hilariously brilliant! I highly recommend getting tickets to see it and there’s lots of deals around at the moment too.

I love this photo of my mum! I think I’m about eight here and we were on holiday in either Bali or Thailand (what a great memory I have…) and I think she looks utterly fabulous! She could totally get away with wearing this outfit in Shoreditch today! I didn’t get to see her on Mother’s Day but spent the day with my boyfriends family for his nephew’s second birthday which was lovely, and my mum loved the flowers and card I sent her.

Told you I’m still talking about my birthday! Two of my best friends have birthdays around the same time as mine so we decided to do a joint get together and gathered the troops last weekend for a bit of karaoke! It’s become a bit of a tradition amongst our friends that once a year we find an excuse to hire a private room somewhere and have a good sing song! It was so fun to be with all my faves and belt out some classics! Celine Dion anyone?!

For Mothers Day I bought my mum and I tickets to see the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra perform the “Best of Broadway”. They played big tunes from all the top Broadway shows and we really enjoyed such classic songs – some from shows we’ve seen together and others we’ve not yet made it to. I adore the Royal Albert Hall it’s such an amazing venue and they put on such a variety of shows, it was really lovely to treat my mumsy to a girls night together πŸ˜€

On Thursday night I headed down to Amazon HQ to their #AmazonAssociates event and hear all about affiliate marketing for your blog. It was a really great evening and as well as getting to catch up with the lovely Georgina and Donalyn I also got to hear great talks by pro bloggers Ella (Cocos Tea Party), Gemma (Gem Fatale) and Reena Rai (Fashion Daydreams). We also had amazing talks from fashion stylist Rachel Story, and a great introduction to Amazon Fashion. It was really interesting to hear about ways to monetise your blog, which is not something I’ve explored before and so inspiring to hear from so many successful bloggers and journalists. I think my take away key quote from the evening came from Ella – “the last thing you post is the first thing people see” so always make sure you put 100% into your content. We also had a pretty tasty dinner including these teeny tiny burgers! So cute! Thanks for a great evening Amazon!

Despite really not liking sultanas I absolutely love hot cross buns! They’re just so delicious and a true Easter treat. This weekend I decided to try and make my own and I have to say they turned out pretty well! It was a long old slog – they took three seperate one hour proves – but I got there in the end! I love a good day of baking πŸ˜€

So there you go, another couple of busy weeks! I can’t believe how action packed my 2015 has been so far. It’s very lovely but is making the year whizz by far too quickly! I’m looking forward to having a few days to chill out, relax and catch up on blogging and life admin over Easter in a couple of weeks!

So glad the Amazon event was helpful! Those mini burgers were probably the biggest hit of the night though πŸ˜‰

I live in Brixton in London. I eat out far too much, am always planning my next trip and have a borderline unhealthy obsession with Harry Potter.
