Midweek Manicure | Models Own Polish for Tans Collection & Easy Festival Nail Art

Fluorescent festival nails!

It wasn't that long ago that I featured a lovely little neon nail polish set from Primark. Well I'm back today with another luminous range - the Polish for Tans collection from Models Own. Hey, you can never have too much neon right?!

The Polish for Tans collection came out within the last month or so and features 5 gloriously bright colours which will look amazing in the summer sun. And those clever little pixies over at Models Own went one step further and designed the range especially so it would show off and highlight a tan - thank you Models Own! I'm one of those people that spends more time choosing what polish to pack, than I do on the rest of my wardrobe when going away, usually umming and aahing about what colours will look fab by the end of my trip (when I've hopefully turned into a golden goddess!) Well stress no more as Models Own have already done the hard work for me!

The colours in the range are Shades (a cute corally-pink), Bikini (an in-yer-face yellow), Beach Bag (a powerful peach), Flip Flop (a garish green) and Sun Hat (a Barbie-esque popping pink). Ooohh I do love a bit of alliteration!

They're all incredible colours! I adore the green Flip Flop and orangey Beach Bag (which the Models Own Bottleshop Babes told me was their fastest selling colour). I was surprised as well by how much I liked Sun Hat and Shades too, as I am not normally a big fan of pink colours. Although they're mega bright they all look very pretty on and will be absolutely perfect for festival fun this summer

L to R: Shades, Bikini, Beach Bag, Flip Flop, Sun Hat

I couldn't decide which polish I wanted to wear first so decided to paint each nail a different colour (which my boyfriend said made me look like a 10 year old who'd been let loose with the highlighter pens at school haha! Thanks sweetheart!) The colours all compliment each other well, but I decided to go one step further and jazz them up even more by hand drawing shabby chic scratchy chevrons on top with my Barry M Nail Art Pen. I actually really like this look and got many a compliment whilst wearing it and I think it would be great to wear to a festival.

The Polish for Tans collection is perfect for indulging in a little bit of nail art and I have several other designs up my sleeve so watch this space!

What's your favourite shade in this collection?

Beauty | Beauty Kitchen - Wake Me Hand Scrub

A Scrub even TLC would love!

It's no secret that I have an ongoing battle with dry sensitive hands which are also prone to eczema *sigh, all the pity please ;)* so I was really intrigued when Kirsten at Beauty Kitchen contacted me to ask if I'd be interested in trying their Wake Me Hand Scrub*. Kirsten explained that their products are made with completely natural ingredients, with no hidden nasty parabens or chemicals, so are perfect for sensitive skin like mine. I've never tried any kind of hand scrub before, or really used any 100% natural products, usually just nipping down to my local Superdrug for creams etc. so I was really excited to give it a whirl, especially as it promised to be skin smoothing and renewing - just what my little paws need!

Midweek Manicure | Models Own - Sticky Fingers Pastel Petals Green

I'm totally Gladiola I picked this polish!

Models Own released their new Sticky Fingers range a couple of months ago, which offer a quick and easy way to create some pretty detailed nail art, with a nail polish and complimenting set of nail stickers. There are 7 sticker / polish combinations in the collection and the one which really stood out to me was Pastel Petals Green - a gorgeous pastel green polish (called Green Gladiola) with mixed flowers stickers. Perfect for wearing in the sunshine!

Sunday Book Club | Escape for the Summer - Ruth Saberton

3 friends, 1 unforgettable summer

I absolutely adore a good bit of chick lit. The amazing mix of strong female characters, a good dose of drama and a sprinkle of incredible friendship and romance make them such feel good novels, they're hard to resist. However, it's been a long time since one has engaged me as much as Ruth Saberton's Escape for the Summer*, which has set itself firmly in my list of favourite books.

Beauty | Models Own Lip-Stix - Purple Pleasure & Beauty Blush

Pickle-Pix Models Own Lip-Stix

I have recently become OBSESSED with lip products. Lipsticks, lip glosses, lip balms - you name it, I love it! Today's lip lust is from one of my favourite brands - Models Own. Now as you know from my Midweek Manicure posts, I'm a HUGE  Models Own fan, and whilst I own far too many of their polishes (is there such a thing?!) a couple of months ago I decided to try one of their Lip-Stix on a whim (which is why the packaging is looking a little bit battered now!) Last week I added another to my collection, and thought I'd give you lovelies a look at them both here.

Fashion | Clarks Miss Chantal Black Bag - Zara City Bag dupe

I bagged myself a new bag! (Yes, another one!)

Oh I do love a new bag! Like every other blogger and their great aunty Maureen, I've always been pretty taken by the infamous Zara City Bag. However, no matter how amazing it looks on everyone else, I always felt it was a bit too big for my needs, and just looked like a briefcase on me - waaaaahhhhh!! So when I saw this amazing dupe - the Miss Chantal bag in Clarks, I was very excited - especially as it was £20 cheaper - only £39.99.
